ZZZ 2.8 New Characters

Promeia

Rarity: S-Rank | Attribute: Ice | Specialty: Anomaly

In the earlier storyline of Zenless Zone Zero, Promeia has already made an appearance. She debuted during Season 2 Interlude: Encore for an Old Dream, serving as one of the judges of the Krampus Compliance Authority.

Promeia features short indigo-blue hair in a sleek bob that partially obscures one eye, reinforcing her cold and composed presence. Her visible eye is a striking shade of purple, aligning with her overall cool-toned aesthetic.

Her new Drive Disc set, “Notes From the Chained,” further hints at her role, strongly suggesting that she will be an Ice-attribute Anomaly unit. Her kit appears to revolve around both Abloom, a rare status effect, and the Freeze mechanic. While Freeze has traditionally functioned mainly as a crowd-control tool that immobilizes enemies, Promeia seems to take this further by converting Freeze application into direct boosts to her Anomaly and Disorder damage. This points to a playstyle centered on triggering Freeze first, then capitalizing on it with powerful follow-up damage, positioning her as either a strong on-field carry or a flexible quick-swap DPS who synergizes effectively with other Anomaly-oriented agents to maximize her damage potential.

 

Billy SP

Aside from Promeia, recent leaks suggest that S-Rank Billy SP will officially become playable.

 In fact, this was already hinted at in the story of Version 2.6. A post on Inter-Knot regarding the "Hollow Hero Tournament" features a silhouette resembling a Starlight Knight, with a red-and-white color scheme that also brings Billy to mind.

ZZZ 2.8 Rerun Characters

Lucia

Based on current predictions, zzz Version 2.8 may feature a rerun of Lucia. There is no information available yet regarding the other rerun character.

Rarity: S-Rank | Attribute: Ether | Specialty: Support

Lucia functions as a Dream-based support engine who consistently increases the team’s Max HP through the Veil mechanic while providing substantial penetration. She also grants flat damage and crit damage bonuses via Harmonies and Veil effects, and contributes steady off-field damage through Aftershocks that create well-timed damage windows. This makes her especially effective in rupture teams that rely on stable uptime and HP-scaling amplification.

In practice, her performance depends heavily on timing and resource management. Lucia becomes most effective when her Dream state is maintained long enough to extend Ether Veil: Wellspring, which improves team survivability and continuously provides damage buffs. As a result, she serves both as a strong buffer and a dependable source of secondary damage.

 

Future New Chracter: Severian Lowell

According to leaks, Severian Lowell is expected to be added to Zenless Zone Zero’s banner lineup in the near future.

He was initially referenced by Seth during Undercover R&B and later made his first on-screen appearance in the Season 2 Interlude: Encore for an Old Dream.

Severian serves as a Senior Commissioner at the New Eridu Public Security HQ, and he is both Seth’s older brother and Cissia’s superior officer.
