If you’re playing Arknights: Endfield with the Protocol Pass active, the weapon side is where most players either win big—or waste their best box.

This guide focuses on the two things that matter: Weapon Supply: Awakening and Protocolized Weapon Pattern, then turns that into a quick, practical choice plan for the signature alternatives tied to Laevatain, Gilberta, and Yvonne—plus when to commit now vs save for later seasons.

Protocol Pass Weapon System

What is Weapon Supply: Awakening?

Weapon Supply: Awakening

Weapon Supply: Awakening is the Protocol Pass 6★ weapon selector. You pick one weapon from a fixed pool—Umbral Torch, Opus: Etch Figure, or Navigator—and you can even hold the box (cancel selection and keep it in Valuables) if you’re not ready to commit yet.

What does Protocolized Weapon Pattern do?

Protocolized Weapon Pattern is the upgrade material that raises the Potential of weapons that come from Protocol Pass weapon supplies (including future seasons’ pass weapons). In other words: it’s built specifically to help you scale these pass weapons without needing banner duplicates.

Protocol Pass Reward Tiers

Protocol Pass Reward Tiers

Basic Supply (free track): you progress it just by playing, but it doesn’t give the 6★ selector by itself.

Originium Supply (Origeometry track): this is the premium track you unlock with Origeometry you can earn in-game, and it includes a 6★ Weapon Selector (Weapon Supply: Awakening) as a headline reward.

Protocol Customized (paid track): this is the paid upgrade track, separate from Originium Supply. It also grants Weapon Supply: Awakening selectors (earlier in the track) and adds the Protocolized Weapon Pattern items that let you push a pass weapon’s Potential higher.

Practical implication:

  • If you only take Originium Supply, you’re basically walking away with one pass weapon at “base Potential” for the season.
  • If you also have Protocol Customized, you’ll have two selectors total plus two Patterns—enough to push one of the pass weapons into a noticeably higher Potential tier without touching weapon banners.

Umbral Torch - Laevatain

Umbral Torch - Arknights Endfield

Base ATK: 490

Intellect: +156

Heat DMG Bonus: +43.30%

Attack: +11.20%

Whenever Combustion or Corrosion is applied to an enemy, the wielder gains Heat DMG dealt and Nature DMG dealt +12.8% for 20s.. Max stacks for effects of the same name: 2. Duration of each stack is counted seperately. Effect only triggers once every 0.1s.

Umbral Torch is a Heat sword that pays you for doing the thing Laevatain already wants to do: keep Combustion/Corrosion happening so the weapon’s damage buff stays online. That’s why it’s the go-to Protocol Pass option when you don’t want to chase her signature (Forgeborn Scathe).

With a damage-leaning Heat setup, you can treat Umbral Torch like a “signature-lite.” As a rule of thumb, Potential 1 tends to land around ~78% of signature in AoE and ~75% in single-target, while max Potential can reach roughly ~89% AoE and ~85% single-target (actual results move with rotation discipline, buffs, and how cleanly you keep Inflictions rolling).

But if you’re running an energy/ultimate-gain comfort setup that already sacrifices raw damage, Laevatain’s signature becomes much harder to replace—because it’s built to turbo-charge her burst window after Ultimate and keeps the “big moment” big.

Opus: Etch Figure - Gilberta

Opus: Etch Figure - Arknights Endfield

Base ATK: 490

Will: +156

Nature DMG Bonus: +43.30%

Attack: +11.20%

After the wielder applies a Nature Infliction with their own Battle Skill, the team gains Arts DMG dealt +8% for 15s. For every enemy suffering from Nature Infliction applied by the said Battle Skill, the team gains Bonus Arts DMG dealt +3.2%, up to a max of +9.6%. Effects of the same name cannot stack.

Opus: Etch Figure is a Nature-support weapon that buffs the team’s Arts DMG Dealt when the wielder applies Nature Infliction, scaling with how many enemies you tag and not stacking with same-name effects. It’s a real substitute when you’re skipping Gilberta’s signature (Delivery Guaranteed).

Opus can look great on paper for personal output, and in some cases it can feel like “damage is fine.” The gap shows more on the support convenience side: Gilberta’s signature has Ultimate Gain Efficiency and a very tailored team-buff trigger, so rotations feel smoother and the buff ceiling is higher when you’re lifting multiple enemies.

Both Opus and Delivery Guaranteed feed a DMG% style buff bucket, so the more your team already stacks “damage dealt” modifiers, the less dramatic each additional source looks. That’s why, on a support, “has real buff value” often matters more than chasing a perfect-in-slot gap.

Navigator – Yvonne

Navigator - Arknights Endfield

Base ATK: 490

Intellect: +156

Cryo DMG Bonus: +43.30%

Critical Rate: +5.60%

When Solidification or Corrosion is applied to enemies, the wielder gains Cryo DMG dealt and Nature DMG dealt +5.6%, and Critical Rate +3.2% for 15s. If this effect is triggered by the wielder, double the increase gained. Effects of the same name cannot stack.

Navigator is a Cryo handcannon that spikes your damage when Solidification or Corrosion is applied: you gain Cryo + Nature DMG Dealt and Crit Rate for a short window, with a stronger payoff when the wielder is the one triggering it (and it has an internal cooldown). For Yvonne teams that naturally keep those statuses flowing, it behaves like a consistent burst enhancer.

Navigator’s value is how “online” it stays in real combat. A practical expectation is Potential 1 ≈ ~80%+ of signature feel, and high Potential ≈ ~90%, because you’re upgrading a buff window you trigger constantly.

Yvonne’s signature (Artzy Tyrannical) is still the top ceiling option, and Wedge is a premium alternative that can get extremely competitive at high investment. Navigator’s niche is simple: it’s the most accessible way to give Yvonne a strong, rotation-friendly weapon without gambling for multiple copies.

Pick + Upgrade Advice

Pick Priority

Umbral Torch > Opus: Etch Figure > Navigator

Umbral Torch is the safest signature alternative for Laevatain: even at low Potential it’s close enough on damage-focused builds to let you skip signature, and higher Potential makes it feel like a true main-carry weapon, while energy/rotation comfort setups still favor her signature.

Opus: Etch Figure is the clean plug-in option for Gilberta: it does the support job reliably, but its value is narrow and really shines only if Gilberta/Ardelia are permanent team slots.

Navigator lands last mainly because Yvonne typically has more viable second-choice weapons to fall back on—so your pass pick is usually better spent covering the bigger “signature gap” on Laevatain or locking in a stable support weapon first.

Upgrade Priority

Umbral Torch > Navigator > Opus: Etch Figure

Carry weapons gain the most from Potential because Potential upgrades are mostly stats/multipliers—you feel it every fight on your main DPS. Support weapons like Opus still improve, but the payoff is more team-context dependent (and easier to “feel fine” at low Potential).

If you own both Originium Supply + Protocol Customized, you’ll have two Weapon Supply: Awakening crates total (one on each track), so you can double-pick the same weapon and push a single pass weapon very high fast. For early-game comfort, Pot 4 on Umbral Torch (Laevatain path) or Navigator (Yvonne path) is the cleanest “feels good immediately” investment.

If Pot 0/1 already feels enough, or Laevatain / Gilberta / Yvonne aren’t in your main teams, or you already pulled their signatures, just save Patterns—they’re explicitly meant to work on Protocol Pass weapon-supply weapons, including future seasons.

Conclusion

Use the selector to cover your biggest gap, then spend Patterns only when you’re sure it’ll stay equipped—otherwise, save both for a future Awakening pool. If you’re topping up Endfield to finish the pass, LDShop is a convenient option to close the last stretch without overbuying.
