Sunbringer is expected in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.4, around December 2, 2026, assuming the usual six-week update schedule. Her exact release date and banner phase are TBD. United by a promise to stand together and protect Roscaelifer, Eldreda, Lindverne, and Dracaene bring that shared resolve into one Agent’s combat kit.
This Sunbringer build guide covers her current overview, skills, materials, Mindscape Cinema, and signature W-Engine. The combat details below are based on beta information circulating online and may change before release.
Sunbringer Overview

S-Rank | Genesis Flare | Armorer | Roscaelifer | Slash
Sunbringer combines Lindverne and Eldreda’s attacks with Dracaene’s defensive interventions. Her skills deal Sharp DMG that scales with DEF. Selected attacks build Gash; heavy finishers consume its stacks to trigger Maim, adding area damage. She uses Sharpness for her EX Special Attacks rather than the usual Energy-based loop.
Her critical hits use Laceration DMG instead of the usual CRIT DMG bonus. Initial CRIT DMG converts into initial CRIT Rate, and CRIT Rate above 100% enables an additional Laceration check. Certain major attacks also store Ember Scar on enemies, which Eldreda’s Ultimate cashes out as direct HP loss.

Core Skills
Core Passive — Sharp DMG, Gash, and Laceration
All damage from Sunbringer’s skills is Sharp DMG, using DEF for its skill damage scaling. Some Sharp DMG builds Gash; filling its buildup applies Gash, up to three stacks. When certain heavy attacks hit a target with Gash, consuming one stack deals one instance of AoE damage. Individual skills above specify when they consume multiple stacks and trigger Maim for each. Sharp critical hits apply Laceration DMG Bonus instead of CRIT DMG bonuses. Once a critical hit occurs, CRIT Rate above 100% provides an additional Laceration check based on the excess CRIT Rate. A successful check applies Laceration DMG Bonus one additional time. Each 1% initial CRIT DMG increases initial CRIT Rate by 0.35%.
Core Passive — Sharpness and Midnight Sun
Entering the battlefield restores 60 Sharpness; in Investigation Zone mode, this entry effect has a 180-second cooldown. Entering combat grants Midnight Sun: 40% CRIT Rate and 20% enemy DEF ignore for 15 seconds. Its timer pauses while both Eldreda and Lindverne are off field. Any EX Special Attack or Converging Edge grants Midnight Sun again. Following Dracaene’s Defensive Assist, Lindverne and Eldreda’s Assist Follow-Ups gain 15% Gash Buildup Rate and 20% damage.
Core Passive — Willpower and Quick Assist
Whenever any squad member triggers Maim, Sunbringer gains 40 Willpower per Gash stack removed, up to 160. Converging Edge costs 120 Willpower. If a teammate triggers Maim while she has enough Willpower, a Quick Assist becomes available; entering through it spends 120 Willpower and directly performs Converging Edge. This Quick Assist effect can trigger once every three seconds.
Core Passive — Ember Scar
When Basic Attack: Bannerbearer - Converging Edge, EX Special Attack: Night Blaze - End of the Long Dark, EX Special Attack: Kindled Lamp - Measure of Eternity, Ultimate: "This Journey, Onward Together", or Ultimate: "This Wish, Reshape All Things" hits and deals damage, it records 75% of that actual damage as Ember Scar on the target. When the finisher of Eldreda’s Ultimate: "This Wish, Reshape All Things" connects, it removes all Ember Scar and directly deducts an equal amount of HP. A hit against a normal enemy whose Ember Scar is at least equal to its current HP clears all Ember Scar and immediately defeats that enemy.
Additional Ability
Requires another Stun, Defense, or Armorer Agent in the squad. Using Dash Attack: Eldreda - Roaming Attack, EX Special Attack: Eldreda - Mid-Tier Switch-In, EX Special Attack: Lindverne - Mid-Tier Switch-In, or EX Special Attack: Lindverne - High-Tier Switch-In grants all Armorer Agents in the squad Laceration Enhance. This increases Laceration DMG by 25% for 45 seconds; activating it again refreshes the duration. The current beta trigger list repeats EX Special Attack: Lindverne - High-Tier Switch-In as its fifth entry.

Sunbringer Best Team Comps
1. Sunbringer + Norma + Robin
Norma builds Daze and strengthens the squad’s damage during Stun, creating a focused window for Sunbringer’s heavy attacks. Robin supplies DEF and damage buffs alongside shields. Norma’s shared faction with Sunbringer also activates her Additional Ability, supporting this team’s burst-oriented approach.
2. Sunbringer + Claret + Robin
Claret and Sunbringer share the Armorer damage system, allowing Maim triggers to support Sunbringer’s Willpower generation while both benefit from Laceration buffs. Robin adds DEF, shields, and damage amplification. This setup emphasizes coordinated Armorer damage and resource flow rather than relying on a dedicated Stun Agent.
Conclusion
Sunbringer’s current kit brings Eldreda, Lindverne, and Dracaene together around DEF-scaling Sharp DMG, Gash finishers, and an Ember Scar payoff. Start with the new four-piece set, two-piece Soul Rock, and either the Norma or Claret lineup above. Final stat targets and Mindscape investment recommendations remain TBD.
