Version 3.6 Phase 2 is bringing Jingran—and he’s finally here!

Jingran has been getting plenty of attention ever since the official Mengzhou character lineup was revealed. He also made his story appearance alongside Suisui in Version 3.5 as the mischievous “Ghostcat Lamplighter.” If cheeky, mysterious boys are your thing, this one might be dangerous for your Astrites.

His official artwork goes all-in on eerie underworld vibes, yet the little flame-cat creature he summons is ridiculously cute. That contrast is honestly half the charm.

So, let’s jump into a full Jingran build guide and see how to get this occult-seeking troublemaker battle-ready.

Jingran Overview

Jingran is a Fusion Main DPS built around Heavy Attack DMG, Max HP scaling, and frequent Shield generation. His kit turns those Shields into offensive value, while Max HP also feeds several of his personal buffs and damage-related effects.

His rotation is fairly straightforward once you get used to the Yin–Yang loop. Enter with his Intro Skill, use Resonance Liberation for his empowered window, then cycle Basic Attacks and Resonance Skill to build Qi and cash it out with Heavy Attack - Soul Raid or Heavy Attack - Stardome Meander. He also has solid aerial coverage, so flying enemies are much less annoying than they are for many grounded carries.

Thousandfold Deliverance looks fantastic with its black-and-gold design, but the real prize is that huge 72.2% HP secondary stat. It takes a lot of pressure off Jingran’s HP requirement, while his constant Shield generation easily stacks the weapon’s Fusion DMG Bonus and Heavy Attack DEF ignore.

If you skip his signature, Thunderflare Dominion and Verdant Summit are both strong 5-star alternatives thanks to their Heavy Attack-friendly effects. For a 4-star option, Aureate Zenith works well as a transitional weapon.

Best Echoes

5-Pc: Upon gaining a Shield, gain 5% increase in Crit. Rate for 5s, max 4 stacks. This effect can be triggered every 0.5s. At max stacks, gain 15% Fusion DMG Bonus.

Substats

Aim for roughly 125% Energy Regen. After that: Crit. Rate / Crit. DMG > HP% > Heavy Attack DMG Bonus > ATK% / Flat HP.

Jingran needs around 50,000 Max HP to fully satisfy the HP scaling built into his Forte. Falling short comes with a noticeable loss, so this is a demanding target—players who have built Cartethyia will know the feeling.

For Echo layouts, keep the recommended COST 4 main Echo in place. Jingran still benefits from ATK as a secondary scaling source, so the flat ATK attached to COST 3 Echoes is not completely wasted.

With a 43311 setup (Crit. DMG; HP% / HP%) you need roughly 31.57% extra HP%

With a 43111 setup (Crit. DMG; HP%) you need roughly 22.14% extra HP%

With a 41111 setup (Crit. DMG) you need roughly 12.72% extra HP%

For Jingran, fitting in more COST 3 Echoes generally gives you more raw value, but it also makes the 50,000 HP target harder to reach. Pick the layout that matches your Echo quality instead of forcing a prettier spreadsheet build.

Skills & Resonance Chains

Skill Priority

Unlock his Inherent Skills first. Then prioritize:

Forte Circuit > Resonance Liberation > Basic Attack > Resonance Skill > Intro Skill

Resonance Chain Quick Take

S1 — Yin and Yang in Harmony, the Ultimate Law of Being: boosts his Resonance Skill multipliers and grants interruption immunity during key Skill attacks.

S2 — A Solitary Lantern, Across Lands Shade-Trodden: a major Heavy Attack upgrade that also gives Jingran extra Qi and Ghost Shroud when entering combat.

S3 — World’s Course Shifts, Each to Their Rightful Paths: greatly improves his Max HP-to-ATK conversion for a strong personal damage boost.

S4 — Where Reality Meets Illusion, Where Living Meet Dead: a team-support Chain that grants an All-Attribute DMG Bonus whenever a teammate gains a Shield.

S5 — Ends Return to Beginnings, Truth of Life Laid Bare: a pure survivability Chain that prevents one fatal hit and grants a large Shield.

S6 — As Favors and Feuds Fade, New Stories Await: the full damage package, adding Heavy Attack vulnerability and continuous Chimei Wangliang summons during Yinghuo.

Recommended investment: S0R1 → S2R1 (key stopping point with a noticeably smoother experience) → S6R1 (full-power build)

Best Teams

Jingran / Iuno / Shorekeeper

Iuno

Iuno

Shorekeeper

Shorekeeper

Team Notes: Jingran repeatedly generates Shields and deals most of his damage through Heavy Attacks, making Iuno an excellent partner. Her Heavy Attack-focused buffs fit his damage profile perfectly, while Shorekeeper supplies valuable Crit. Rate, Crit. DMG, healing, and universal support.

Mono-Fusion Team

Lupa

Mornye

Mornye (S1)

Team Notes: Lupa is a natural pick for Fusion-focused teams thanks to her smooth rotation, fast Concerto generation, and strong Fusion support. If you also have S1 Mornye, the full mono-Fusion setup becomes even more attractive.

Low-Cost Jingran Team

Rebecca

Rebecca / Mortefi

Shorekeeper

Shorekeeper

Team Notes: Rebecca or Mortefi can fill the secondary damage/support slot without making the team too expensive. Both give Jingran useful Heavy Attack support, letting this lower-investment setup perform surprisingly well.

Conclusion

Jingran is a strong pick for players who enjoy Heavy Attack-focused carries with a little extra comfort built in. His HP scaling and frequent Shields make him surprisingly sturdy, while the right Echoes and teammates let his damage really take off.

If you’re planning to go for S0R1 or push further into his Resonance Chains, make sure your pulls are ready before his banner arrives. You can grab the Lunites you need with a Wuthering Waves top-up at LDShop, then leave the rest to your luck.
