Ye Shunguang is landing in Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Version 2.5, and she’s the kind of DPS who rewards players that like clean planning: build your setup, pick a good entry, then cash out hard inside a tight burst window. In this guide, we’ll focus on Ye Shunguang team comps recommendations—which teammates best support her burst rhythm, how to keep her swaps smooth, and what each lineup is trying to achieve when the fight gets sweaty.

Ye Shunguang is an S-Rank Attack agent from Yunkui Summit built around a clean loop: stack → swap in → aerial burst window → cash-out. Outside her powered mode, she builds Qingming Sword Stance, then converts it into a 16-second Enlightened State with Ether Veil: Verdict, triggered by her Ultimate or a special off-field Quick Assist. In this state, her moveset upgrades and all damage becomes Honed Edge DMG.
Where she shines is planned burst content: boss/elite fights and time-limited stages where your team can reliably create a stun/break window, keep the target inside Veil, then let Ye unload without interruption. Her many i-frame-heavy actions also make her a great pick for high-pressure, lethal stages where staying on-field normally feels risky. She also slots cleanly into teams running an Assist or Defense unit, since her kit rewards that structure and helps her maintain stance flow.
Ye Shunguang Default Rotation

Goal: enter Enlightened State with 6 Qingming Sword Stance, keep enemies inside Ether Veil: Verdict, then spend stance efficiently through her aerial chain.
A. Setup phase (off-field / pre-burst)
Build toward 6 Qingming Sword Stance while you run your team’s usual stun + buff flow. Don’t stress about tiny overcaps—overflow becomes Embracing Earth and refunds into stance when the state ends.
If you need a quick top-up, her EX can also grant stance on use.
B. Entry (pick one, depending on what you have)
- Quick Assist Entry (preferred when ready): when you have 6 stance and you’re not in Enlightened State, swap in from off-field to trigger Quick Assist: Shadowbane → you instantly enter Enlightened State, drop Ether Veil: Verdict, and start airborne (with i-frames).
- Ultimate Entry: cast Ultimate: Thundering Cloud Chaser to enter Enlightened State, activate Ether Veil, and gain 6 stance for 16s.
C. Burst string (the “default” spend pattern)
- Ground starter → launch: use Parting Waters and make sure you route into Rising Force (the aerial launcher) when stance is available.
- Air chain: while airborne, do Lightstream Slash → Lightstream Extinction (Extinction gets stronger if you have 2+ stance, consumes 2 stance on hit, and grants Arresting Gaze).
- Main spender: convert your remaining stance into damage with EX Special: Enlightened State – Flying Light (hold to shred; it continuously consumes stance, stays in the state, and has i-frames). Arresting Gaze effectively “forgives” one stance consumption during Flying Light, so Extinction → Flying Light is a very clean pairing.
- Cash-out / exit: when your stance duration is about to end (or you’ve dumped enough), use Return to Dust to deal a big hit and end Ether Veil + Enlightened State.
D. Optional “double-ult” finisher
After you’ve consumed Decibels for the main Ultimate, she can use Illusion-Cleaving Heaven Strike during Enlightened State as a follow-up that doesn’t consume Decibels and ends the state—handy when you want a clean end to the window.

This trio plays like a classic stun-window burst squad: Dialyn’s main value is giving you more “real” Ye windows by upgrading a teammate’s Chain Attack into an Ultimate once her Review requirements are met, so Ye can enter her 16s Enlightened burst more often without waiting forever on Decibels. Astra Yao smooths the whole flow by entering Idyllic Cadenza after her Chain/Ultimate, then repeatedly creating Quick Assist triggers (and even turning the next Quick Assists into Chain Attacks after her Ultimate), which makes it easier to keep swaps and chain windows rolling.
Default rotation: Dialyn field time to build Reviews + push Daze → Astra Chain/Ultimate to enter Idyllic Cadenza and start feeding Quick Assists → trigger a Chain window and let Dialyn convert Ye’s Chain into an Ultimate → swap to Ye, pop her burst window, do your aerial string, cash out → back to Dialyn/Astra and rebuild.

This is the “full kit turned on” version. Zhao can activate Ether Veil: Wellspring, and while Ether Veil is active she adds teamwide buffs (HP/ATK) and a scalable whole-squad DMG boost—and, crucially, she’s currently the key teammate because she can provide Ether Veil access that Ye’s kit cares about. Once Zhao pops Ether Veil, Ye’s Additional Ability can convert those ally Ether Veil activations into instant stance gain (or Embracing Earth if Ye is already in burst), which makes Ye’s entry timing way less strict. Dialyn then does what she does best: secure the stun window and occasionally “print” Ye another Ultimate by upgrading the Chain Attack.
Default rotation: Build toward a stun while Zhao passively stacks her resource → swap to Zhao when ready to activate Ether Veil and trigger the assist flow → bring Ye in and start her 16s burst window → cash out and exit → Dialyn back in to rebuild Daze/Reviews → next Chain window, Dialyn upgrades Ye into an Ultimate again → refresh Zhao’s Ether Veil when it falls off.

This lineup trades Dialyn’s “hard stun + free Ult conversion” for a cleaner, more supportive engine: Zhao is your Ether Veil anchor (team buffs + DMG boost while within Ether Veil), and she repeatedly sets up Quick Assist moments as part of her Ether Veil flow. That directly feeds Ye because Ye’s Additional Ability rewards ally Ether Veil activations with stance, helping her reach (or sustain) burst entries more reliably across cycles. Astra Yao then glues everything together with Idyllic Cadenza: after her Chain/Ultimate she keeps triggering Quick Assists frequently, and her Ultimate can even make the next Quick Assists act like Chain Attacks—so Ye gets smoother swap-ins and more consistent “go time” windows even if your stun timing isn’t perfect.
Default rotation: Astra Chain/Ultimate early to enter Idyllic Cadenza → play Zhao until she can activate Ether Veil → use the assist trigger to bring Ye in for her burst window and cash-out → rotate back to Astra to maintain Cadenza/assists → keep Zhao’s Ether Veil uptime high → repeat, aiming to align Ye’s burst with your best damage/stun moments.

Ye Shunguang + Seed + Zhao plays differently with Seed in the slot: it becomes a true dual-Attack “partner” engine, not just “Ye plus two helpers.” Here, Ye is Seed’s Vanguard (the other Attack agent with the highest base ATK), which Seed needs to fully function. Seed rewards short, intentional swaps—Ye and Seed alternate EX Specials to keep Onslaught / Direct Strike rolling, and when both are active they also gain Besiege, turning swap-cancels into real damage. Seed also feeds Energy back to the Vanguard while she’s dealing damage, helping Ye come online faster after a cash-out. Ye’s Energy spending builds Seed’s Steel Charge, creating a second spike during Ye’s rebuild phase.
Default rotation: Start on Zhao to build toward Wellspring → swap to Ye to build stance → Zhao activates Ether Veil (Ye gets stance) → bring Ye in for Enlightened + Verdict burst, run her aerial string, cash out → use Seed as the filler/secondary DPS while Ye rebuilds → refresh Zhao’s Ether Veil before the next Ye window.
Conclusion
At the end of the day, Ye’s comps all chase the same win condition: enter the window ready, keep the fight “organized” long enough to unload, then leave before your tempo breaks. Pre-stack your stance, choose the entry that fits the moment (Quick Assist when you’re truly ready; Ultimate when you need certainty), and treat her burst like a timed performance—short, clean, and lethal.
And hey—if you’re one teammate away from your favorite shell (that missing Zhao/Astra/Dialyn/Seed pain is real), you don’t have to “cope comp” the whole patch. A safe Monochrome Top-up via LDShop can help you finish the roster you actually want—then you come back, hit that perfect Ye window, and watch the stage melt exactly the way it should.
