Genshin Version 6.3 Update Summary: Everything You Need to Know

Hey Travelers! Hold onto your Primogems because Version 6.3 is shaping up to be an absolute monster of a patch.

There’s a ton going on this time: new characters, new map zones, new outfits—and yes, finally some fresh artifact sets that actually look worth farming. If you haven't kept up with all the info floating around, here’s a clean rundown of everything that matters in 6.3.

NEW Characters: Columbina, Zibai, and Illuga

Let’s start with the headliners.

Columbina makes her long-awaited debut as a Hydro catalyst user built entirely around Lunar reactions. She’s insanely good at turning elemental triggers into big numbers, especially thanks to her signature weapon, Nocturne’s Curtain Call, which gives her a mountain of CRIT DMG and stacks a ton of HP and Lunar reaction bonuses whenever she triggers one. The wild part? The Energy refund works even off-field, making her a very comfy sub-DPS to play.

Then there’s Zibai, a Geo sword user who slots right into Lunar Crystallization teams. His weapon, Lightbearing Moonshard, leans heavily into DEF and reaction damage—basically custom-made for the new Geo–Hydro synergy.

Illuga, a Geo polearm user, rounds out the trio. He pairs naturally with Zibai in Lunar Crystallization comps and gives Geo teams some much-needed diversity in playstyle.

6.3 Banners this time around look pretty stacked:

Phase 2: Zibai + Neuvillette (who’s also getting a new outfit!)

NEW Weapons

Nocturne’s Curtain Call (Catalyst – Columbina)

542 Base ATK + 88.2% CRIT DMG.

Its passive boosts Max HP by up to 18%, then another up to 22% after triggering Lunar reactions, while also increasing Lunar Reaction CRIT DMG by up to 140%. It even restores Energy every 18 seconds—off-field included.

Perfect fit for her kit, both mechanically and thematically.

Lightbearing Moonshard (Sword – Zibai)

Also 542 Base ATK + 88.2% CRIT DMG.

Its passive increases DEF up to 40%, and after using a Skill, boosts Lunar-Crystallize DMG by up to 128% for 5 seconds.

Very straightforward, very good for what Zibai wants to do.

NEW Elemental Reaction: Lunar Crystallization

This is probably the biggest gameplay shift we've seen in a while. 6.3 introduces Lunar Crystallization.

Basically, when Geo meets Hydro under specific conditions, it’s no longer just a boring shield.

It creates Lunar Wards.

Trigger this three times, and you get a Lunar Ward Resonance.

The Kicker: This deals Geo DMG that can CRIT.

Finally, Geo is getting some offensive reaction scaling! The damage scales based on all characters involved in the reaction, so your team building is going to get a lot more interesting.

 

Two NEW Artifact Sets

Artifact enjoyers, rejoice. Patch 6.3 introduces two brand-new sets, and they’re both interesting:

A Day Carved from Rising Winds

This set was clearly made for characters who want straight-up ATK scaling and don’t mind staying off-field to stack buffs.

 

Aubade of Morningstar and Moon

If you’re playing around with the new Lunar reactions, this is the one you’ll probably end up farming.

And if your team’s Moonsign Level hits Ascendant Gleam, you get another +40% Lunar Reaction DMG.

The moment the character steps onto the field for 3 seconds, the effect disappears, so it’s built for off-field reactors.

You can run this set on Lunar-reaction sub-DPS units like Columbina, Ineffa, or Lauma for an easy, consistent damage boost.

 

Map Expansion: Nod-Krai North

Only the northern part of Nod-Krai is opening this update.

6.3 Map landscape

NEW Boss

The 6.3 introduces The Doctor as a new Weekly Boss, which you can obtain Columbina's new Ascension materials by defeating him, so get your weapon ready and head to his home now!
