Cyrene Chrysos Heirs Buffs - Everything You Need To Know

As the last member of the Chrysos Heirs and the most anticipated character in the Amphoreus saga of Honkai Star Rail, Cyrene is a special character that, for the first time in the game’s history, provide special unique buffs to each individual characters, allowing her to be a very versatile character that is intended to be able to buff all of the Chrysos Heirs in the game.

Cyrene

However, despite her unique ability, some buffs Cyrene provides are generally better than others, with some of her buff effects providing more benefits to some heirs than others. So it is important to take these differences into account when slotting her in different Heirs teams

How Cyrene Chrysos Heirs Buffs Works

As a Remembrance Unit, Cyrene’s ability to buff different Chrysos Heirs lies in her Memosprite Skill. Upon using her Ultimate, Cyrenen will immediately summon her memosprite and allow her to grant the memosprite an instant extra turn for it to take action right away. This allows players to start buffing Chrysos Heirs in the team.

Upon taking an action, Cyrene’s Memosprite will be able to use its skill to select 1 unit on the field to grant buffs to, and if the buffed ally is a Chrysos Heir, they will gain special buffs depending on which Chrysos Heir was selected. Please note that different Chrysos Heirs buffs have different durations, with some effects provided by Cyrene only taking effect once per battle and some buffs take effects for the entirety of the battle.

The Chrysos Heirs characters that can have special buffs to them are: Phainon, Mydei, Remembrance Trailblazer, Agalea, Cipher, Castorice, Hyacine, Anaxa, Hysilens, Cerydra, Evernight and Dan Heng Permansor Terrae. Please note that the buff only works on Remembrance Trailblazer and no other version of Trailblazers, and the same applies to Dan Heng Permansor Terrae.

Factors That Determines How Good Cyrene’s Chrysos Heirs Buffs Are

As her main gimmick, Cyrene’s Chrysos Heirs unique buffs are the highlight of her kit, making it her main gimmick and justification for slotting her in the different Chrysos Heirs teams in place of other characters in order to best support the Heirs. Therefore, there are some considerations that players need to take into account when deciding on whether or not to use Cyrene in the different Chrysos Heirs’ teams:

  • Cyrene Can Only Buff After She Uses Her Ultimate: As mentioned, the way that Cyrene can apply her buffs on each of the individual Chrysos Heirs in the team is after she uses her Ultimate to summon her Memosprite. This makes it so that charging up her Ultimate is an utmost important factor as she doesn’t use the natural energy system but charges her Ult based on different actions of the members of the team. If the team consists of Chrysos Heirs, Cyrene’s Ultimate will charge faster. Therefore, if players don’t like waiting for Cyrene to buff the Chrysos Heirs or if she charges her Ultimate too slowly, some players might not find having Cyrene in the team beneficial at all.
  • Cyrene Chrysos Heirs Buffs Affect Multiple Heirs At The Same Time: If players manage to use Cyrene’s Ultimate multiple times, they will be able to select multiple different Chrysos Heirs to obtain their unique buffs. These buffs will all take effects at the same time for as long as their duration allows.

Which Chrysos Heirs Benefit the Most?

With how Cyrene buffs work on the Chrysos Heirs established and explained, we will now go over all of the effects that Cyrene provides for the different Chrysos Heirs and show players which of the Heirs benefits most from having Cyrene’s buffs on them.

Please note that this list is divided based on the degree which the Cyrene buffs affect the different Chrysos Heirs and do not take into account other factors like other characters’ buffs or team building.

Most Beneficial Chrysos Heir Buffs

These Cyrene Chrysos Heir buffs massively boost the overall usability of the different Chrysos Heirs and improves their gameplay potential by a large amount, turning them into powerful characters to run alongside Cyrene to take full advantage of her buffs.

The heirs that have the most beneficial Chrysos Heir Buffs are:

Phainon

Castorice

Cipher

HSR RMC

Phainon

Castorice

Cipher

RMC

Explanations:

Phainon

Phainon

Effects: Effective for the entire battle. After it is used on Phainon, Phainon gains 6 "Coreflames" as well as "Eternal Ignition" when Transforming.

When Transforming, if "Coreflame" exceeds 12, for each point in excess, Khaslana's CRIT DMG increases by 12%, up to 72%. While "Eternal Ignition" persists, increases Khaslana's CRIT Rate by 16%.

After the extra turns are depleted, the Transformation does not end, but refreshes all of Khaslana's extra turns and gains 4 point(s) of "Scourge."

At the start of Khaslana's extra turns, Khaslana consumes an amount of HP equal to 15% of his current HP. After using an attack, deals 5 instances of Additional DMG, with each instance dealing Fire Additional DMG equal to 10% of Khaslana's ATK to one random enemy.

Analysis: This Cyrene buff essentially makes it so that Phainon’s special Ultimate mode does not expire when he enters it for as long as Phainon has enough healing to offset the HP reduction effect from the buff. This allows Phainon to maintain his damage massively once he has managed to receive buffs from all of his teammates. This Cyrene buff also instantly grants Phainon the Coreflames needed for him to enter his Ultimate Mode while also gaining the full effect of the buff’s Critical Damage increase when he has overflowed Coreflames. This buff changes Phainon’s gameplay massively, making it one of the more impactful Cyrene buffs.

Castorice

Castorice

Effects: Effective for the entire battle. When used on Castorice, "Newbud" can overflow up to 200%. When summoning Netherwing, consumes all overflowed "Newbud," increases the DMG multiplier of the DMG dealt by 0.24% for every 1% of overflow value consumed when the summoned Netherwing triggers the ability effect of its Talent, "Wings Sweep the Ruins."

If there are 2 enemy target(s) on the field or fewer when summoned, the DMG multiplier additionally increases by 0.48% when summoning.

Analysis: This Cyrene buff massively improved Castorice’s damage output by allowing her to convert any overflow healing and HP consumption into extra Newbud value and increases her damage based on the overflow amount. Additionally, this buff also helps Castorice deal more damage when there are 2 or fewer enemies on the field, helping Castorice to deal better damage against single boss fights.

Cipher

Cipher

Effects: Effective for the entire battle. When used on Cipher, increases the DMG dealt by Cipher by 36%, and decreases the DEF of the "Patron" by 20% and the DEF of enemy targets other than "Patron" by 12%.

Analysis: The buff for Cipher is extremely simple but effective when coupled with Cipher’s own skill kit, allowing Cipher to reduce the defense of all enemies on the field to up to 40% as long as she is on the field and boosting her damage output, making it a very universally powerful buff to have.

Remembrance Trailblazer

Remembrance Trailblazer

Effects: Effective for the entire battle. When used on Trailblazer (Remembrance), increases Trailblazer (Remembrance)'s ATK by a value equal to 16% of Cyrene's Max HP, and increases Trailblazer (Remembrance)'s CRIT Rate by a value equal to 72% of Cyrene's CRIT Rate. This effect also applies to Mem. After Trailblazer (Remembrance) uses Enhanced Basic ATK in this battle, Cyrene immediately gains 1 extra turn and automatically uses "Minuet of Blooms and Plumes." If the target was defeated before this ability is used, it will be used on newly appeared enemy targets instead.

Analysis: A double buff for both Remembrance Trailblazer and Cyrene herself, with Cyrene providing Remembrance Trailblazer with massive amount of stat buffs proportional to her own stats while also allowing Cyrene herself to take action immediately whenever Remembrance Trailblazer uses their special enhanced basic attack. This buff helps improve the damage output of Remembrance Trailblazer while also helping to improve Cyrene’s buff cycles.

Powerful Chrysos Heirs Buffs

Aside from the ones that benefits most from the Chrysos Heirs buffs from Cyrene, these heirs also gain powerful effects thanks to Cyrene:

Aglaea

Anaxa

Cerydra

Evernight

Aglaea

Anaxa

Cerydra

Evernight

Dan Heng Permansor Terrae

Hyacine

Dan Heng Permansor Terrae

Hyacine

Explanations:

Aglaea

Aglaea

Effects: One-time effect. When used on Aglaea, causes Aglaea to gain "Romantic" and immediately stacks Garmentmaker's Memosprite Talent's SPD Boost effect to its max. After Aglaea or Garmentmaker uses an attack, consumes "Romantic" and regenerates 70 Energy. Increases DMG dealt by Aglaea and Garmentmaker by 72%, and ignores 36% of the target's DEF, lasting until Aglaea exits the "Supreme Stance" state.

Analysis: This buff massively boosts Aglaea’s initial damage output and improves her damage rotation immensely by allowing her to use her Ultimate to enter her coordinated attack mode right away and gain the maximum speed boosting effect from her kit, granting her immensely powerful damaging effect for her first damage round.

Anaxa

Anaxa

Effects: One-time effect. When used on Anaxa, recovers 1 Skill Point(s) for allies and allows Anaxa to take action immediately. Increases the number of Skill DMG instances by 3 for 1 turn. The next time Anaxa uses an ability, he gains "True Knowledge": Increases the ATK of all Erudition Path characters by 60% and Skill DMG dealt by 40% until the start of Anaxa's next turn.

Analysis: This buff allows Anaxa to deal a massive instance of damage to enemies by triggering his skill 3 times in a row while also boosting the damage output of all of the other Erudition Path characters in the team, helping to boost the damage output of the entire team.

Cerydra

Cerydra

Effects: Effective for the entire battle. After using on Cerydra, increases the CRIT DMG of the character with "Military Merit" by 30%. After Coup de Main ends, Cerydra immediately gains 1 point(s) of Charge.

Analysis: A generic but powerful buff for Cerydra, allowing her to buff the damage output of her buff target even more while also improving her rotation, allowing the character with Military Merit to reuse their skill more frequently.

Evernight

Evernight

Effects: Effective for the entire battle. After it is used on Evernight, increases DMG dealt when Evey uses the Memosprite Skill "Dream, Dissolving, as Dew" by 18%. After Evernight uses a Skill/Ultimate, additionally gains "Memoria." The CRIT DMG boost effect provided by the Skill is further increased by an amount equal to 12% of Evernight's CRIT DMG.

Analysis: A simple but overall good buff for Evernight, boosting her overall damage output and improving her damage rotation by providing her with extra Memoria stacks.

Dan Heng Permansor Terrae

Effects: When Cyrene uses Memosprite Skill, grants "Ode to Earth" to Dan Heng Permansor Terrae, and the next 3 attack(s) of "Souldragon" deals Additional DMG of the "Bondmate's" Type, equal to 80% of the "Bondmate's" Shield Effect. When Dan Heng Permansor Terrae holds "Ode to Earth," the "Bondmate" deals 24% more DMG.

When used on Dan Heng Permansor Terrae, additionally advances Souldragon's action by 100%.

The Souldragon's next action gains the enhance effects of Dan Heng Permansor Terrae's Ultimate and the Shield Effect provided by Souldragon is 150% of its original Shield value. Does not consume the enhancement Charge of Dan Heng Permansor Terrae's Ultimate.

Analysis: A decently strong buff for Dan Heng Permansor Terrae that not only allows him to buff the damage output of his bondmate but allows him to instantly take action and provide shields for the team with extra effects and damage.

Hyacine

Effects: When Cyrene uses Memosprite Skill, causes Hyacine to gain 2 stacks of "Ode to Sky." When used on Hyacine, regenerates 24 Energy for Hyacine. When Hyacine has "Ode to Sky" and is providing healing, additionally increases the healing value for Little Ica's Memosprite Skill by an amount equal to 72% of the healing value this time. After Hyacine uses Skill/Ultimate, consumes 1 stack of "Ode to Sky."

Analysis: A strong and consistent buff for Hyacine, allowing her to heal more and gain extra energy to use her Ultimate more often and deal more damage overall.

Normal Chrysos Heirs Buffs

The Chrysos Heirs in this section benefit somewhat from Cyrene’s buffs, the buffs aren’t big enough to justify running Cyrene together with them in the same team and uses Cyrene’s abilities on them, making these buffs the least beneficial buffs overall when compared to others.

These buffs are:

Mydei

Tribbie

Hysilens

Explanations:

Mydei

Effects: One-time effect. When used on Mydei, removes all Crowd Control debuffs inflicted on him. And if Mydei is in the "Vendetta" state, he automatically uses 1 instance of "Godslayer Be God" without consuming Charge. Mydei's CRIT DMG increases by 200% during this attack.
If the target gets defeated before the use, then it will target the newly arriving enemy targets instead. If Mydei is not in the "Vendetta" state, then advances Mydei's action by 100%.

Analysis: Aside from the baffling buff that removes all crowd control debuffs on a character that already have crowd control debuff immunity, this buff only provides Mydei with a 200% Crit damage increase for 1 single attack, which is not that valuable when there are other more reliable sources of Critical Damage boosts that last much longer, making this buff overall quite useless.

Tribbie

Effects: Effective for the entire battle. When used on Tribbie, causes DMG dealt by Tribbie to ignore 12% of the enemy's DEF. When Tribbie launches Follow-up ATK and triggers the Additional DMG from Tribbie's Zone, it further deals 1 instance(s) of Additional DMG.

Analysis: A generic buff that doubles the damage instance dealt by Tribbie and helps to boost Tribbie’s own damage output. However, due to the fact that you would need to run Cyrene alongside Tribbie and this buff ONLY buff tribbie’s damage, it is not very recommended to use this buff.

Hysilens

Effects: One-time effect. When used on Hysilens, Hysilens gains "Flowing Warmth." After Hysilens uses an attack, consumes "Flowing Warmth" and regenerates 60 Energy for this unit.
In this battle, increases DMG dealt by Hysilens by 120%. After Hysilens uses Basic ATK/Skill to attack enemies, causes the DoT currently applied on the attacked enemy targets to immediately produce DMG equal to 60%/80% of the original DMG.

Analysis: An overall decent buff to Hysilens’ own attack and allow her to trigger DoTs with her Basic Attacks and Skills. However, due to how strict the team building in DoT team is, it is extremely hard to justify running Cyrene together with Hysilens for her to gain the benefits of this buff.

Conclusion

With the release of Cyrene rounding the corner for Honkai Star Rail, understanding how her kit works and which Chrysos Heir benefits most from her buffs will be crucial for team building with her moving forward. We hope that with this guide, players have been able to have a better understanding of how her buff works and the heirs that benefits most from her different buffs.
