Basic Introduction

Anaxa is a 5* Wind character who follows the Path of Erudition, equipped with a versatile skill kit centered around AoE damage and powerful debuffs. His unique playstyle revolves around assigning up to 7 different types of weaknesses to enemies, enabling the entire team to deal effective damage while also allowing Anaxa to punish foes burdened with multiple elemental vulnerabilities. This gimmick not only boosts team synergy but also makes Anaxa a compelling character to build and a valuable asset in many combat scenarios.

Anaxa Skill Mechanics

Anaxa’s skill kit revolves around two core mechanics: a powerful AoE Skill that bounces between enemies and deals high damage, and the ability to assign up to 7 different elemental weaknesses to enemies.

When Anaxa is on the field, each attack inflicts 1 random elemental weakness on the main target, lasting 3 turns. His Normal Attack deals Wind damage and restores 10 energy. If no enemy has more than 5 weaknesses, he recovers an extra 25 energy.

His Skill hits all enemies with a bouncing AoE attack, prioritizing targets with fewer weaknesses and avoiding enemies already hit. If Anaxa hits an enemy with 5 or more weaknesses using his Normal Attack or Skill, he will trigger an extra Skill attack on all enemies for free.

Anaxa’s Ultimate deals Wind AoE damage and applies the Ascension State debuff, which prevents enemies from acting and counts them as having all 7 elemental weaknesses—fully enabling his damage potential.

Anaxa Trace Priorities & Additional Abilities

Due to how his kit works, players should focus on upgrading Anaxa’s Skill and Talent First to maximize his damage potential.

Skill = Talent > Ultimate > Basic ATK

Additionally, players should absolutely focus on unlocking all 3 of Anaxa’s Additional Abilities as quickly as possible to maximize his skill kit potential overall.

Anaxa Best and Alternative Lightcones

As a sub-DPS and debuffer, stats is all the most important thing to Anaxa, so his Lightcones need to have decent enough stats to help with building him to alleviate some of the stat requirements for Anaxa.

The best Lightcone for Anaxa will no doubt be his personal Signature Lightcone:

Life Should Be Cast to Flames (Limited 5* Lightcone)

Life Should Be Cast to Flames (Limited 5* Lightcone)

Effect: Increase the Caster’s Critical Rate by 18%. At the start of the wearer's turn, regenerates 10 Energy. If the enemy target has a Weakness implanted by the wearer, increases the wearer's DMG dealt to it by 60%.When enemy targets are attacked by the wearer, the wearer decreases its DEF by 12%, lasting for 2 turn(s). The same types of effects cannot stack.

Not only does this Lightcone allows Anaxa to gain good amount of critical rate and energy to use his Ultimate quickly, it also massively increase the damage dealt by Anaxa and additionally reduces the defense of the enemies.

Some of the alternative Lightcones players can use for Anaxa are:

Into the Unreachable Veil (Limited 5* Lightcone)

Into the Unreachable Veil (Limited 5* Lightcone)

Effect: increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 12%. When the wearer uses Ultimate, increases the Skill and Ultimate DMG dealt by the wearer by 60%, lasting for 3 turn(s). After the wearer. uses Ultimate, if this instance of Ultimate consumed 140 or more Energy, recovers 1 Skill Point.

Eternal Calculus (Free Permanent 5* Lightcone)

Effect: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12% (level 5). After using an attack, for each enemy target hit, additionally increases ATK by 8% (level 5). This effect can stack up to 5 times and last until the next attack. If there are 3 or more enemy targets hit, this unit's SPD increases by 16% (level 5), lasting for 1 turn(s).

The Great Cosmic Enterprise (Free 4* Light Cone in Anniversary Event)

The Great Cosmic Enterprise: New 4-Star Light Cone for The Erudition

Effect: Increases the wearer's ATK by 16% (level 5). Gains up to 28% extra DMG based on the number of different Weakness Types on the enemy, 8% (level 5) per type, max 7 types.

This new and free Light Cone is essentially tailor-made for Anaxa, perfectly addressing the common frustration players had with optimizing Light Cones for this character.

This Light Cone provides a 56% damage bonus when enemies have all 7 weaknesses, which Anaxa can easily achieve thanks to her unique mechanics. For other Erudition characters, it typically grants a 24% damage bonus (3 weaknesses), aligning closely with the damage bonus from "The Seriousness of Breakfast."

Anaxa Best Relic, Ornaments & Stat Builds

Relics

For Anaxa’s best set of Relics, players should aim for a 4 piece Eagle of Twilight Line set, which is his best in slot Relic Set by far, allowing him to take quick actions whenever he uses his Ultimate.

Eagle of Twilight Line

Eagle of Twilight Line

2-Pc: Increases Wind DMG by 10%.

4-Pc: After the wearer uses their Ultimate, their action is Advanced Forward by 25%.

Ornaments

For Ornaments, Anaxa’s BiS Ornament set is the planar set Rutilant Arena, which grants allow Anaxa to gain additional crit rate and increase his skill damage by a decent amount.

Rutilant Arena

Rutilant Arena

2-Pc: Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 8%. When the wearer's current CRIT Rate reaches 70% or higher, the wearer's Basic ATK and Skill DMG increase by 20%.

Recommended Main & Sub Stats

For Main Stats, Players should aim for these main stats on their Relics & Ornaments:

Eagle of Twilight Line stats

  • Body: Crit Rate/Crit Damage%
  • Feet: Speed
  • Planar Sphere: Attack/ Wind Damage Bonus%
  • Link Rope: Attack% (Sub DPS build) or Energy Regen% (Support Build)

For Sub Stats, Players should aim for these sub stats for all of Anaxa’s Relics & Ornaments Pieces:
Critical Stats = Spd = Attack% > Attack > All Other Stats

Rutilant Arena stats

It is important to note that there are considerations for players when building Anaxa so that he can reach his best potential in a fight:

  • If players want to maximize Anaxa’s own damage potential, players should use an Attack% Link Rope on him. Otherwise, an Energy Regeneration Rope for quicker Ultimate is better for Anaxa overall.
  • Due to Anaxa needing to quickly inflict elemental weaknesses onto the enemies to maximize his damage output quickly, giving Anaxa as much speed stats as possible is highly recommended.
  • Thanks to Anaxa’s own Critical Damage increase talent, players should prioritize giving Anaxa as much Critical Rate stat as possible to balance out his critical stats.

Anaxa Best Teams

As mentioned, Anaxa shines best in teams with an additional Erudition character as either the enabler for his own damage output or for Anaxa to become the sub DPS to enable the other Erudition character to deal as much damage as possible. Therefore, the best team comp for Anaxa in the current meta is:

The Herta (Main DPS) + Anaxa (Sub DPS/ Debuffer) + Support + Sustain

Anaxa Best Teams

Explanation:

  • Main DPS: The Herta is naturally Anaxa’s best teammate by far as she benefits the most from having an additional Erudition character in the team that can constantly deal AoE damage to enemies to enable her own Ultimate and skill kit. Having Anaxa on a The Herta team not only provide The Herta with a massive boost in Critical stats and damage output, The Herta will also be able to use her ultimate extremely quickly thanks to Anaxa AoE attacks.
  • Sub DPS/ Debuffer: Anaxa will fill the role in this team as The Herta’s main enabler, allowing her to regen her energy as much as possible from his multiple AoE Attacks in addition to inflicting the Ice weakness on enemies so that she can deal as much damage as possible. Do not be mistaken though, Anaxa’s own damage output in this team will also be extremely high thanks to the symbiotic relationship he has with having The Herta - an Erudition character in the same team.
  • Support: Players can consider several damage boosting support characters in this slot like Remembrance Trailblazer, Ruan Mei or Tribbie to boost the overall damage output of both The Herta and Anaxa.
  • Sustain: For sustain, players should prioritize a sustain option that can attack all enemies with strong AoE attacks like Luocha, Lingsha or Gallagher.

Conclusion

The heretic professor of the Grove of Epiphany, Anaxa is an amazing Erudition character that not only can become an extremely strong AoE damage dealer when paired with other Erudition characters but can also enable The Herta team comp into the next level of the Honkai Star Rail meta, making him a very valuable character for players who loves the path of Erudition to consider rolling for.
