HSR Pure Fiction: V3.8 Guide Update & Teams

Pure Fiction has refreshed with the Version 3.8 update! The current phase, "Epic Collection," shifted the meta away from the previous DoT-heavy focus toward Skill-based attacks and the new Remembrance/Memosprite mechanics. Did you secure your 800 Stellar Jades yet? Let’s go!

Buff Overview

Epic Collection (January 5, 2026 – February 16, 2026)
Grit Mechanic: Activate Grit Mechanics in battle to accumulate Grit Value and enter the Surging Grit phase after accumulating it to full. Triggers DoT: Every time a DoT is received by an enemy target, additionally accumulates 2 Grit Value for allies.
Concordant Truce	Enemies enter the battle with 1 stack of Echo Enigma (a special Wind Shear). After every action, they gain another stack and take Wind DoT at the start of their turn. Echo Enigma stacks up to 10 stacks, lasting 3 turns.
Surging Grit	Upon reaching full Grit, all enemies immediately: Receive 5 stacks of Echo Enigma. Trigger every current DoT for 100% of its original DMG instantly. Suffer +50% DMG taken. Deal 35% less DMG. Gain 50% SPD during this phase.

3 Individual Buffs

Solo Symphony	During the "Surging Grit" period, after an ally uses a Skill to attack enemy targets, they deal additional True DMG equal to 30% of the original damage to each enemy target hit.
Ravings	Upon entering "Surging Grit," Breaks all enemy targets' Weakness and recovers 4 Skill Point(s). During "Surging Grit," Break DMG dealt to enemy targets increases by 50%. Additionally, after allies attack enemy targets, every enemy target that becomes Weakness Broken additionally accumulates 5 Grit Value for allies.
Ballad	During the "Surging Grit" period, memosprite's DMG increases by 30%, and when a memosprite disappears, the memomaster's action advances by 15%. Additionally, after a memosprite's attack hits an enemy, every target hit additionally accumulates 3 Grit Value for allies.

Enemy Mechanics Hoolay and his Borisin pack bring high-frequency attacks and speed-boosting mechanics:

High Frequency & Countering: In Wave 2, the "Winged Serpent" counters the entire team whenever it is attacked while charging.

Speed & Action: In Wave 3, Hoolay features multi-action skill mechanics, while the Wolftrooper enemies use "Moon Rage" to boost the entire pack's Speed.

Tactical Tip: This side heavily favors Follow-up/Counter teams (e.g., Yunli, Clara) and DoT teams due to the enemy's high action frequency.

Ebon Deer

Enemy Mechanics The Ebon Deer focuses on high damage output and crowd control:

High Damage & HP Tax: Waves 1 and 2 feature "Black Tide" enemies that significantly reduce your team's Max HP.

Crowd Control: In Wave 3, the Ebon Deer's summoned "Twig of Wintry Wind" has a high chance to Control (Outrage) a single ally.

Tactical Tip: It is highly recommended to bring a Sustain with Cleanse or Control Resist (like Huohuo or Fu Xuan) to prevent your main DPS from losing turns.

Conclusion

The Version 3.8 cycle heavily favors Skill-reliant characters and the newly introduced Remembrance units like Castorice and Aglaea. While the Hoolay node requires frequent attacking to manage his mechanics, the Ebon Deer remains a test of your AoE priority.
