Hey, Trailblazers! The Memory of Chaos: “Category Mistake” for Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.6 is officially live! This round’s environmental mechanics pack a serious punch — mastering them can make all the difference in clearing the toughest stages and earning those full-star rewards.
In this guide, we’ll break down enemy behaviors, stage mechanics, and the best team setups to help you breeze through every challenge and secure a perfect score with ease!
Buff Analysis

When this unit has summons, both it and its summons gain a 40% DMG boost. At the start of each cycle, it deals 1 plus the number of summons instances of True DMG to all enemies, up to 3 hits per cycle, with each hit hitting for around 70,000–90,000 damage—making it great for clearing enemy summons.
Dan Heng • PT’s Souldragon also counts as a summon, letting allies trigger the 40% boost. On floor 12, the lower-half boss is particularly vulnerable to shield supports, so bringing shield characters can make the fight much smoother.

|
|
Phase 1 |
Furiae Praetor
The Ascended |
|
Phase 2 |
Flame Reaver of the Deepest Dark |
1st half recommendation
The best elements for this stage are Ice and Lightning, followed by Quantum, with AoE and multi-target attacks performing the strongest. Most enemies have standard resistances, except for the first-wave The Ascended, which comes with 40% Wind RES.
In Wave 1, keep an eye on the Furiae Praetor’s turn—it summons Furiae Warriors when it acts. It’s better to wait until the summons appear before bursting damage so you can break shields and charge energy efficiently. Once its Toughness is broken, it takes extra damage, so have your subs and supports focus fire too—its HP pool is much higher than the others.
In Wave 2, the Flame Reaver of the Deepest Dark burns its own HP when attacking and can summon Long-Shattered Vessels. Take out these clones quickly to reduce the boss’s HP and toughness, but if you leave them, it’ll absorb them to heal and power up. During Phase 2, the Reaver starts charging “Cry Not For The Discarded” and keeps summoning more clones—either clean them up to lower the incoming damage, or hit its weakness to interrupt the cast before things get messy.

Phase 2 |
Ichor Memosprite: Judge of Oblivion |
2nd half recommendation
For the lower half, focus on Physical and Imaginary and choose attack types ranked as Piercing > Spread. There are no special enemy resistances here, so it’s all about smart target control.
In Wave 1, prioritize breaking the Dreamjolt Troupe’s Sweet Gorilla first—its Toughness lock can drag the fight if ignored. The rest of the enemies can be handled normally, though Aurumaton Spectral Envoy’s mark-and-control attacks can be annoying, so bring someone who can cleanse or resist debuffs.
In Wave 2, the boss Ichor Memosprite: Judge of Oblivion has 50% damage reduction until broken, then becomes 50% more vulnerable, loses 20% HP, and is delayed by 200%. Its Toughness bar is long (480), but you can chip it down by blocking its attacks with shields or destroying its summoned Pheasants (around 300k HP each), which cuts 60 Toughness per summon. When it targets someone with “Hemotort Decapitation,” let your highest-HP character take the hit with a shield up—otherwise, expect around 5k damage and a nasty bleed DoT. Characters like Dan Heng • PT or Aventurine can use their strong shields to tank safely, making this fight much smoother.
