Hello, proxiy! Did you all catch the Zenless Zone Zero preview stream last night? I was camped in front of my computer early, just waiting to bring you the freshest updates!
This preview once again delivered some juicy exchange codes, event info, and even two free skins. Plus, a teaser PV dropped, and Ye Shunguang made her dazzling debut!
But… plot twist! It seems Ye Shunguang might not actually be the new Hunting Agent. Her power level still looks impressive (and that side profile? Absolutely stunning, can't stop staring, prprpr…), but the leaks suggest the Hunter could be someone else. Who could it be? Let's dive in together and find out!
Note: This blog is based on leaks and speculation. Please take everything with a grain of salt—the official release will have the final word!
Ye Shunguang Model Speculation
Shunguang makes her entrance with a side-profile crit straight to the heart—paired with a dazzling slit cheongsam and those sleek black-and-red heels. Who on earth could resist that?
At the end of the teaser, we hear a very intriguing line:
"Ye Shunguang of Yunkui Summit, will you take upon yourself the honor and the heavy duty of the…"
The English mentions "honor" and "heavy duty," while the Japanese version even adds a sense of resolve. It really gives the impression that she's about to take on some big responsibility or face a major challenge.
But does that mean she's the new Hunter? Personally, I'm not convinced just yet. (Remember, when Xingmeya and Yixuan were first teased, there was official confirmation, but Shunguang didn't get that.) And with miHoYo's PVs, literally anything is possible. To me, whether she's a Hunter or not isn't the real question, what matters is whether she comes with Hunter–level stats. Either way, she's definitely worth keeping an eye on.
Now, about the Shimmering Sword theory, looking at the animation, her weapon seems to be a uniquely designed one-handed sword, with a lot of red elements across her outfit. So here's my bold guess: Ye Shunguang might be a HP-burning Fire DPS—her weapon turns red after skill use, she loses HP as she powers up, and her ultimate lets her heal herself back.
Possible New Hunter: Sun Bringer
A lot of players have been hyped for Ye Shunguang to become the next hunter, but all signs point to Season 2's hunter being designed around Sun Bringer instead. The buildup has been there since version 2.0, with plenty of foreshadowing tucked into the story.
For example, in the latest event "'En-Nah' chess Legend", once players reach the Aether rank, a special cutscene triggers. And guess what? it's centered on Lady Sun Bringer herself! In it, she shares her philosophy: "Bangboos are all unique. They are partners, not tools." This moment also marks the very first time players officially get to meet her.
In the story, Lady Sun Bringer isn't just anyone—she's the current CEO of the Martzel Group and the inventor of the Bangboos. Talk about prestige! With a résumé like that, her true strength must be absolutely off the charts. Compared to that, Ye Shunguang so far has basically zero connection to the Hunters, which makes it pretty unlikely she'll suddenly be forced into that role.
As for Sun Bringer's potential skill kit, some juicy leaks have already surfaced. Her core mechanic revolves around summoning Bangboos into battle. There are nine types in total, and each time she'll randomly summon three of them: their effects also shift depending on the rest of your team. These Bangboos cover functions like attack buffs, shields, cycle boosts, and charge effects. But here's the catch: whenever they attack, they drain HP from the entire team!
Her ultimate, however, flips that drawback into raw power, she gains a damage boost based on the total HP her team has lost. Risky? Absolutely. But the payoff could be massive!
Conclusion
Although the leaks aren't fully confirmed yet, both Sister Ye Shunguang and Lady Sun Bringer are absolutely worth the hype. If Ye Shunguang really does arrive in version 2.5, then the next hunter of Season 2 will probably show up around 2.6. Shunguang is expected to join the banner in either 2.5 or 2.6, while Lady Sun Bringer also seems poised to make her debut—becoming the next "hunter" after Xingmeya. And with her identity as the inventor of Bangboos, her strength is practically guaranteed.
